Gatesville ISD to operate 16th annual summer feeding program June 1–July 30

District staff presented plans for the 16th Annual Summer Feeding Program to be operated from the Elementary campus with deliveries to community sites; service will run June 1–July 30 and include the Boys & Girls Club and other locations.
LeighAnn Goodwin, assistant superintendent of finance, outlined plans for Gatesville ISD’s 16th Annual Summer Feeding Program, which will operate through the National School Lunch Program. Meals will be served at the Elementary campus and delivered to Trinity Baptist Church, the City Pool, summer-school campuses, the Boys & Girls Club and the high school during athletic camps.
Goodwin said the program is operated from the Child Nutrition Fund and has historically produced gains some years and losses in others; "This program has a history of some years we have a net loss and some years we have a net gain," she told the board. Service is scheduled to begin Monday, June 1, 2026 and end Thursday, July 30, 2026.
