During the May 11 meeting, the Hale Center ISD Board approved a series of budget revisions and travel requests. Among the actions: a $2,031.55 transfer to fund Ag student travel to the State FFA convention in Fort Worth (July 6–10, 2026); a $4,500 transfer to instructional staff development for end-of-year and start-of-year staff events; transfers totaling $14,723.12 to cover water-damaged band instruments and related band needs; and a $4,000 transfer to fund vocational Ag teacher travel to a Corpus Christi conference July 20–24, 2026. All budget revisions passed unanimously (7–0).
The board also approved out-of-state travel for students attending the National FCCLA event in Washington, D.C., July 5–11, 2026, and authorized drum majors and team leadership to attend a band camp at Southwestern Oklahoma State University July 11–17, 2026. Additionally, the board approved $1,108.89 for Carr Middle School library materials and a gas convection double-oven at Akin funded by a $20,000 Texas Department of Agriculture grant. Motions were seconded and approved without objection.
