The Hale Center ISD Board of Trustees approved a $94,750 contract with Quality Air Service Center of Plainview to replace the existing walk-in freezer and walk-in refrigerator at the high school cafeteria. The motion, made by Troy McGann, was approved unanimously and the work is scheduled to begin in the summer with completion targeted for August 2026.
Board members emphasized the need to complete the project before the school year begins; no objections were recorded and the vote was 7–0. The contract award was entered among a sequence of facilities and equipment approvals during the May 11 meeting.
