The Granbury ISD Board of Trustees on April 20 approved staff recommendations to hire a new chief financial officer and principals for three campuses, voting unanimously among members present.
Trustee Barbara Townsend moved to approve the recommendation for chief financial officer; Trustee Tim Bolton seconded and the motion passed 6-0, with Trustee Mike Moore recorded absent. Trustees Stuart Neal and Calvin Lawrence moved and seconded the motions to approve principal recommendations for Granbury Middle School, Acton Elementary School and Emma Roberson Early Learning Academy; each motion passed by the same recorded tally.
In the superintendent's report, the superintendent said, "One of the most important parts of my role as superintendent is supporting and selecting strong campus and district leaders." The report named Kellie Pollock as principal of Emma Roberson Early Learning Academy, Ammie Hill returning to lead Acton Elementary School, and Dr. Ben Sherley as principal of Granbury Middle School. The superintendent also recommended aTisha Griffin for chief financial officer.
Board members also voted to approve employment contracts as presented; that motion was moved by Nancy Alana, seconded by Calvin Lawrence and passed 6-0 (one absent). No public comments were made on the personnel items at the meeting.
