Resident says loose dog keeps returning to Steger neighborhood; officials promise follow-up

Diane Heft of 3242 Hopkins told the Village Board during public comment that a dog she identified as belonging to "TTS Granite" has gotten out of its owner's property at least four times and has been coming to her front door late at night.
"My dog is going crazy at 1:30 in the morning because this dog has gotten out again and is at my front door," Heft said, adding that the dog "does its business in our yard." Director of Public Infrastructure Dave Toepper responded directly to the complaint: "I will get together with the Police Chief and we will try to get some results." Heft requested guidance on enforcement options and follow-up from village staff.
