Board approves minutes, payment of bills and other consent items; personnel packet approved after closed session

The Board of Education, Township High School District 208, voted to approve the consent agenda at its Aug. 12, 2025 meeting, including minutes from the July 8 open and closed meetings and the payment of bills. The motions carried with six AYE votes (Mr. Caputo, Mr. Durkin, Ms. Gasca, Mr. Novak, Mr. Williams and Ms. Zalas); Ms. Laura Hruska was recorded as absent.
After returning from closed session, the board approved a personnel packet that included resignations, new non-certified staffing and multiple coaching and club stipends. The personnel packet listed the resignations of Kate Coogan (Special Education Aide, effective 8/14/2025) and David Wackrow (Special Education Aide, effective 8/31/2025), and approved the hire of Santana Diaz as a Special Education Aide at $20.00 per hour pending licensure. The board also approved stipend amounts for coaches and club sponsors as presented in the agenda packet.
