Bensenville approves engineering contracts to begin York Road–CPKC grade separation project

Contract B, which covers broader preliminary engineering and federal/NEPA requirements tied to grant funding, was presented at $2,752,223. "It is now time to start the phase 1 process," staff said; both contracts were approved by roll call. Staff warned that the federal/IDOT approval process could take nine months to a year.
Next steps: staff said field survey work for Contract A can begin once the contract is approved; Contract B work will proceed through the federal, NEPA and IDOT processes and will rely on grant awards to cover the larger engineering costs.
