Hays CISD trustees deny Level 3 grievance relief, ask administration to confirm payment of two exchange days

Board President Byron Severance moved that the Hays CISD Board of Trustees "deny the relief requested by the grievant; but that the administration take further action to confirm that the payment of the two exchange days requested is consistent with district policy and take action, if necessary, to comply with said policy." The board approved the motion 6-0; Trustee Raul Vela was absent.
The motion concluded a closed-session Level 3 grievance appeal hearing conducted under Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 and 551.074 and Board Policy DGBA (Local). No members of the public spoke during the meeting’s public forum. The board reconvened in open session at 8:18 PM and adjourned at 8:19 PM after taking the action on the grievance.
