Board approves PUD amendment to add 36 parking spaces at Energy Sports Complex

The Bensenville Village Board on May 19 approved an amendment to the planned‑unit development at 1005 Commerce Court that will add 36 parking spaces to serve the Energy Sports Complex.
Walter, who presented the item, said the amendment would "result in a net increase of 36 parking spaces at the southern end of the site, bringing total number of on‑site spaces to 117." The reconfiguration also includes relocation of a sidewalk, a retaining wall, additional accessible parking stalls and modified dimensional standards for aisles and spaces in the added area.
The Community Development Commission held a public hearing on May 5 and recommended unanimous approval subject to conditions. Walter told trustees the approval standards and prior PUD conditions remain in effect and that the requested deviations apply only to the revised area shown on the applicant’s plans. The board moved, seconded and adopted the ordinance approving the PUD amendment with the conditions detailed in the staff report, including a required landscape plan, DuPage County stormwater certification and a stormwater management memorandum prior to issuance of a building permit.
The amendment is intended to support parking demand for the Energy Sports Complex and to ensure on‑site stormwater and landscaping requirements are met as construction proceeds under the revised plan.
