On Cruise to the Coast, Alderman Giuffreya noted the city's tight finances and moved that the city contribute $5,000 instead of the $8,500 requested; the motion passed with commitments to provide in-kind and overtime support as before.
The council approved the Trucks & Tacos special-event permit, noting the event has grown year-over-year and previously caused no public-harm complaints. Separately, Moses Espinal, president and founder of the Gulf Coast Veterans Association, requested a fee waiver for the Veterans Day parade; an alderman amended the motion to waive the fee for 2026, and council approved the waiver.
Council members stressed the desire to support community events while balancing limited budgetary resources; no additional city-wide funding programs were created in these votes.
