Hudson ISD authorizes $1.683 million in capital projects, approves purchases over $50,000

The Hudson ISD Board of Trustees on Oct. 23 approved a proposed capital project listing and a budget amendment totaling $1,683,000. Mr. Reagan McClenny moved and Mr. Chris Smith seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (7–0).
The board reviewed an itemized list that included two regular school buses ($310,000); a specially adapted school bus ($135,000); replacement of a Hyper-V cluster and the phone system ($200,000); HVAC work for the high-school gym and media center ($162,000); Peavy Primary gutter replacement ($100,000); covered parking for the white fleet and trailers ($60,000); Phase IV safety and security keyless entry ($50,000); assorted fencing, drainage, flooring and athletic equipment ($66,000); and roof planning/Phase III for the high school and band hall ($300,000) plus additional Peavy Primary parking ($300,000). The motion specifically authorized proceeding with district purchases exceeding $50,000 and moving roofing into the active purchase section.
Board members voting in favor were Katie Baker, Ashlyn Cole, Reagan McClenny, Shawn Penn, Rusty Pitts, Aimee Slusher and Chris Smith. District staff recorded the total amendment amount as $1,683,000 and indicated funds would be allocated from the General Fund Balance.
