Mrs. Aimee Slusher moved to adopt the change and Mr. Reagan McClenny seconded; the motion carried unanimously (7–0).
The adopted language clarifies the disciplinary sequence for device violations during the school year. The policy lists specific progressive consequences: "1st Offense - 3 School Days confiscation; 2nd Offense - 3 School Days confiscation + 3 days of ISS; 3rd Offense - 5 School Days confiscation + 5 days of ISS; 4th Offense - 7 School Days confiscation + 7 days of ISS; 5th Offense - DAEP Placement." District staff said the single-word change—adding "school" before "days"—is intended to remove ambiguity about whether the sanctions applied across calendar days or only days when school is in session.
Board members voting in favor were Katie Baker, Ashlyn Cole, Reagan McClenny, Shawn Penn, Rusty Pitts, Aimee Slusher and Chris Smith. The motion was moved by Mrs. Aimee Slusher and seconded by Mr. Reagan McClenny, and the board recorded the approval as unanimous.
