Dr. Zaher updated the board Aug. 14 on construction progress tied to the Safe Schools I Secure Futures projects: the elevator is installed, sidewalks are being installed, flooring, painting and ceilings are nearly complete, furniture has been delivered, and technology connections are in progress. She said the DuPage Regional Office of Education inspection is scheduled for Aug. 18, which will clear the building for students to be in the facility for the start of school.
Dr. Zaher outlined proposed Phase II work at Salt Creek—classroom structural improvements, corridor updates, library and gym work and exterior fascia replacement—and site-specific projects at Swartz and Albright (playground surface, cafeteria/kitchen upgrades, soccer field regrade and sunshade). The board approved Amendment 26 to the Master Agreement with FGM Architects, authorizing design development for the summer 2026 referendum projects; the motion was moved by Mr. Blair, seconded by Mr. Van De Velde and carried unanimously.
