Salt Creek board authorizes public notice for 2025–26 tentative budget hearing

The Salt Creek School District 48 Board of Education authorized on Aug. 14 the publication of a public notice announcing the district's tentative 2025–26 budget and a public hearing set for Sept. 18, 2025. Business official Ms. Jilek told the board the tentative budget will be available for public review 30 days before the hearing as required by statute.
The authorization was made by motion of Mr. Blair, seconded by Mr. Downer, and carried on a unanimous voice vote with Mrs. Rattana absent. The board also noted the budget will be presented again at the Sept. 18 regular meeting and that the public hearing will precede that meeting.
