The Henderson ISD Board approved the purchase of 350 Aruba wireless access points, including five-year cloud management licenses and mounting hardware, for a total contract price of $227,867.50 from NextStep Innovation. Kevin Bryan explained the district's current wireless access points "will reach end-of-life in July of 2026," prompting a competitive procurement and a mini-bid conducted under DIR pricing.
Bryan told trustees the district completed the E-rate Form 470 process and will file Form 471 if the board approves. He said the anticipated E-rate funding would cover 85% of the project ($193,687.37), leaving a district portion of $34,180.13 (15%). The motion to approve the purchase passed unanimously, 5-0, on a motion by Shannon Coats and a second by Lou Madsen.
