At its April 13 meeting the Goose Creek CISD Board of Trustees approved personnel actions that included seven teacher new hires, acceptance of 28 resignations and retirements, election of one administrative hire, and issuance of administrator contracts.
Under Agenda 9636 the board approved seven teacher hires by recorded motion: Bethany Chavez (Alamo Elementary), Lindsey Hampton (Ross S. Sterling High School), Samuel Oedi (Goose Creek Memorial High School), Miriam Pacheco (Bowie Elementary), Joanna Singh (Carver Elementary), Matthew Sorrels (E. F. Green Junior School), and Janet Zepeda (Horace Mann Junior School). The motion to accept twenty-eight resignations and retirements passed with the same affirmative trustee votes; the minutes list each name and effective date. Several employees retiring had long tenures, including Blanca Capetillo (27 years, Highlands Elementary principal) and Sara Serrano (30 years).
The board also approved the election of Leslie Manly as Educational Diagnostician and approved issuance of one-year term and probationary contracts for administrative personnel as presented (Agenda 9637). All the listed personnel actions were recorded in the minutes with board votes in favor of the motions.
