Hondo ISD approves budget amendments, third‑party benefit administrator and Skyward conversion

During its May 18 meeting the Hondo ISD Board of Trustees approved a set of financial and administrative items. Patricia Gonzales, Business Manager, presented a budget update and requested approval of budget amendments; Craig Luedke moved to approve the amendments and Steven Tapia seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Gonzales also requested approval of a third-party administrator for employee benefits; the board approved Riata Financial after a motion by Blake Halbardier and second by Ricky Ruiz. Earlier in the meeting the board approved consent items that included the minutes of the May 11, 2026 meeting and investment, financial and tax office reports. Superintendent Rose Mary Mares also requested approval of a Skyward to Qmiative conversion, which the board approved by unanimous vote.
