The City Commission voted unanimously on Aug. 5 to amend the future land use map and adopt a Transit‑Support Development (TSD) designation, including a maximum density of 200 dwelling units per acre.
Staff told commissioners the changes had been discussed at prior meetings and that the ordinance and companion map amendment were intended to enable transit‑oriented development consistent with planning objectives. Mr. Albers (staff) had presented the proposal previously; tonight there were no public speakers at the hearing and the commission approved both items on a 4–0 roll call.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about applicability and noted the change will require follow‑up code and process checks to ensure local zoning and county exceptions are accounted for before development applications are processed.
