Hondo ISD recognizes district Teachers of the Year; high school educator honored by chamber

The Hondo Independent School District Board of Trustees recognized the district's Teachers of the Year at its regular meeting March 23 in the Hondo High School cafeteria. Superintendent Rose Mary Mares presented awards to Haydee Ramos of Meyer Elementary, Melanie Culver of Woolls Intermediate, Patricia Barrientes of McDowell Middle School and Kathleen Fohn of Hondo High School.
The board noted Mrs. Fohn's additional honor from the Hondo Area Chamber of Commerce, naming her Educator of the Year. Principals Tim Graff, Cora Beth Roberts, Tracy Tapia and Michael Mahoney provided brief campus updates following the recognitions. No board action was required for the recognitions; the item was presented as an announcement during the meeting.
