Hillsboro ISD approves personnel actions and grants superintendent hiring authority through August

The board recessed into closed session at 6:37 p.m. to discuss personnel and real property and reconvened at 7:41 p.m. Returning to open session, trustees approved the personnel items (new hires) on a motion by Brooke Thompson, seconded by Michael Peavy. The motion passed unanimously among members present (6-0).
Trustee Michael Peavy then moved to approve the Superintendent's Final Hiring Authority for the period May 12, 2026 through August 31, 2026; Trustee Gerardo Carbajal seconded and the board approved the authority on a unanimous vote among members present. The authority provides the superintendent delegated hiring power during the summer hiring window.
