The Highland Park Independent School District Board of Trustees convened its called meeting at 7:34 a.m. on April 15, 2026, at the William P. Clements Leadership Center. Board members present were Maryjane Bonfield (President), Ellen Lee (Board Secretary), Doug Woodward (Board Finance Officer) and Blythe Koch (Trustee); Bryce Benson (Vice President), Pete Flowers (Trustee) and Michael Denton (Trustee) were noted as absent.
The Board recessed to closed session at 7:35 a.m. under Section 551.071, Texas Government Code, to consult with legal counsel about a Level III parent grievance appeal under Board Policy FNG(LOCAL). The Board reconvened at 8:42 a.m.; on a motion by Trustee Blythe Koch, seconded by Secretary Ellen Lee, the Board voted 3–1 to uphold the administrative decision reached at Level II. The meeting adjourned at 8:43 a.m. on a motion by Trustee Koch, seconded by Doug Woodward, which passed unanimously.
