The JEFFERSON ISD Board of Trustees approved the elementary Local Improvement Plan by a 6-0 vote on Nov. 11 following remarks from campus leadership about instructional progress.
Terry Johnson explained steps the elementary campus is taking to improve accountability and said he has received positive feedback from teachers about student academic standing. Mitzi Neely highlighted significant improvement in third-grade writing compared with the same period last year. Rusty Mauldin moved to approve the Local Improvement Plan; the motion was seconded by Kirstin Johnson and carried 6-0.
The approval formally authorizes the campus to continue the improvement strategies outlined in the plan and enables staff to implement the described interventions this school year.
