Bob Ferretti says Supreme Court may bar counting ballots received after election day

Bob Ferretti, a Republican candidate for Illinois attorney general, told Public Affairs TV that he expects the U.S. Supreme Court in Watson v RNC to hold that ballots arriving after midnight on election day should not be counted. "I think they're gonna say at midnight that night, that's it," Ferretti said during an interview about the case and Illinois law.
Host Berkowitz pushed back, saying critics have not produced proof of widespread fraud: "You can't prove this. You haven't proved it." Ferretti responded that the attorney general has authority under the election code to initiate criminal prosecutions where state's attorneys decline to act and called for investigations to restore "voter integrity." He said he would pursue that role if elected attorney general.
