Village moves to pursue IEPA loan and expands engineering services for water projects

Village Engineer Mark Bingham outlined planning to pursue an Illinois EPA loan to fund a package of water projects including a new well, water tower painting, water main work and additional rehabilitation at the water treatment plant. "The next steps to move forward are to start the full loan application and design plans and get ready for construction," he said, and asked for board direction to start application preparation and design.
Trustees voted 6-0 to amend the prior engineering contract to include design and construction phase services so engineering could complete the loan application and move the projects toward construction. Bingham emphasized that the water treatment plant is the priority for capacity and that design work should proceed to position the village for loan closing and construction scheduling.
