Board grants liquor license and $2,000 donation to Stonington Summerfest
Summary
Trustees approved a liquor license for Stonington Summerfest (June 13–15, 2025) and authorized a $2,000 village donation. The event will mark the festival's 40th anniversary with the theme "Party Like It's 1985."
President Dowdy invited Stonington Summerfest co-chairs Jodi Rusher and Jenny Prasun to discuss plans for the June festival. Rusher (as co-chair) told the board: "This year the Summerfest will be celebrating its 40th anniversary and the theme is 'Party Like It's 1985' to be held June 13, 14, and 15, 2025." Trustees approved a liquor license for the committee by motion (Wilson seconded by Kuntzman) and voted 6-0 to grant the license for the three-day event.
The board also approved a $2,000 donation to the Summerfest (motion by Callan, second by Grover), a contribution recorded as passing 6-0. Co-chairs requested street closures as in prior years and assistance with garbage cleanup; the board agreed to the standard closures and support as recorded in the minutes.
