Jourdanton ISD certifies unopposed trustees and cancels Nov. 5 election for Districts 5 and 7

The Jourdanton Independent School District Board of Trustees approved certification of unopposed candidates for single-member Districts 5 and 7 and then approved an order cancelling the November 5, 2024 board elections for those districts. Trustee Vance Jupe moved to certify the unopposed candidates; Trustee Greg Vyvlecka seconded the motion and the vote was recorded as six yeas and one absence.
Following certification, Trustee Kendall Schorsch moved and Trustee Vance Jupe seconded an order to cancel the elections for Districts 5 and 7. The board approved the cancellation by a recorded vote of Yea 6, Nay 0, Absent 1. The minutes show the board acted under agenda items IV.C and IV.D to complete the certification and cancellation sequence.
