Employee Benefits Committee to meet again as open enrollment nears; OPEH&W and Classen Clinic discussed

Rod Cleveland, speaking for the Employee Benefits Committee, reported on the committee’s Sept. 4 meeting and told the Budget Board on Sept. 8 that the group discussed the OPEH&W health plans. He said health checks are not required and that life insurance rolls over year to year. The committee discussed flexible spending and health spending accounts and tabled several items until a special meeting can finalize recommendations ahead of open enrollment in October.
Cleveland also said discussions continue with Classen Clinic about a contract complimentary to the county health plan; he reported that Classen Clinic is offering IV treatments and body scans for employees as part of that potential arrangement. The committee plans to hold a special meeting to prepare recommendations for the Board of County Commissioners.
