Karnack ISD to replace cameras, add phones and buy 18 student laptops under grants and vendor changes

District administrators reported that the district safety vendor Everon has been canceled and a new company will cover cameras, new phones with built-in PA systems, a 911 locator and related items under the Safety Grant. The district also reported its TIA application had been approved.
Separately, the board voted to purchase 18 student laptops using funds from the LASO III Technology Lending Grant. Trustee Kristi Stephens moved approval of the laptop purchase and Trustee Lacy Warren seconded; the record shows a unanimous 7 board vote to approve the expenditure. Trustees also approved projects and payments to vendors as part of regular procurement actions recorded in the minutes.
