Karnack ISD board approves consent agenda including handbooks, evaluations and procurement procedures

During its July 28 special meeting, the Karnack ISD Board of Trustees approved a multi-item consent agenda addressing finances, personnel evaluation tools, handbooks and procurement guidance.
Trustee Judy Vandeventer moved to approve the consent agenda items, and Trustee Lacy Warren seconded. The minutes record a unanimous board vote of 7–0 in favor. Items listed on the consent agenda included budget amendments; 2025–26 TPESS and TTESS evaluations; the student code of conduct and employee handbooks; the district micro purchase threshold; TASB Home School Participation policy; and the 2025–26 SNP Procurement Procedures Manual and Code of Conduct.
Trustee Vandeventer asked administration to provide completed handbook documents (rather than templates) before final distribution. The minutes record that Mrs. McGlothin has already updated application materials and added trade schools such as cosmetology and barbering to certain scholarship application options.
