The Kerrville Independent School District Board of Trustees voted Feb. 16 to authorize Superintendent Dr. Brent Ringo to enter a service agreement with Capturing Kids' Hearts (CKH) for 2026–27. Trustees were told CKH is a multi-year, research-based initiative designed to help teachers and administrators build relationships and create self-managing student groups.
Administrators noted that in 2025–26 Nimitz Elementary, Tally Elementary and Tivy High School participated in CKH training and received ongoing support. Trustee David Sprouse moved approval and Trustee Rolinda Schmidt seconded; the motion passed 7–0.
The district will implement CKH supports at participating campuses during the 2026–27 school year under the superintendent’s authority to execute the agreement.
