The board approved a joint-election agreement with Tarrant County Elections Administration for the May 3, 2025 trustee election after staff warned of a substantial cost increase under a new county formula.
A staff presenter explained the county has moved from allocating shared election costs based on polling places to a formula based on the number of registered voters, which will increase the district’s share by roughly 45 percent. "It will increase our cost, by about, 45% compared to years past. It's an increase of $31,498.17 for them to conduct our May elections this year under the new format," the presenter said.
Trustees discussed following up with county commissioners about the change; the board voted 7-0 to enter the joint-election agreement and contract for election services.
