Manuela King, principal landscape architect with RHAA, said the design centers on porous open spaces that connect directly to Agnews Historic Park and on preserving as many existing trees as possible. "Every open space is oriented and pointing towards Agnew's Park so that when you come out you don't have to walk horizontally, and then make a turn and go to the park," she said, and she noted dark‑green trees on the plan indicate preserved trees, including existing redwoods.
King described three major park spaces—the Lafayette community park (about two acres with playground, dog area and restroom), a Greenway Park with a pedestrian/bicycle corridor along the site's backside, and Clock Tower Park adjacent to the historic Clock Tower building. She also said the project proposes 84 bicycle parking spaces (versus 29 required) distributed across the site to support a bicycle‑friendly community.
