Consultant: Districtwide surveys show gains, especially in student behavior

Darren, a consultant with School Perceptions, told the Elk River School District board that year‑two results from student, staff and parent surveys largely showed progress and stability across measures. "So that being said, I would say this report in summary is largely celebratory because you moved the hardest area to move in that student behavior in all 3 reports through the eyes of the survey takers," he said, noting the district can now look for trends instead of one‑off changes.
Darren described the firm’s two‑year comparison method and percentile benchmarking against other districts. He emphasized that percent‑change, absolute agreement rates and percentile rank all matter when interpreting results and recommended the district publish executive summaries, email notices and other outreach so parents see the improvement.
