Principals report student programs, safety planning and a potential 'No Cell Phone' policy review

Middle/high school Principal Megan Walls told the board that Sweethearts and Heroes presentations have begun in elementary grades K–2, the third quarter has started and staff are reviewing course requests for fall 2025, and the 'Pay It Forward' program has distributed books to all students. Ms. Walls said she will begin discussions with department heads, teachers and students about moving toward a 'No Cell Phone' school.
Elementary Principal Krista Ringer reported that Sonya Lambert was honored as a Master Teacher, maintenance staff responded to a water main break, and the Wellness Committee met to consider spending $9,000 remaining in its budget (possibilities included kayaks, paddles and a party cart). Superintendent Rob McAuliffe said Superintendent Day training originally scheduled for March 18 would move to March 25 to accommodate suicide-awareness training that will include presentations for staff and students.
