Kenedy County‑Wide trustees table action on superintendent resignation, return to open session

The board returned to open session at 8:20 P.M.
In open session Trustee Leticia Vela moved and Trustee Gerardo Medellin seconded "to table the consideration and possible action regarding Superintendent/Principal resignation." The motion carried unanimously with Vela, Medellin and Serna voting "Yea." The trustees then made a separate, unanimous motion to table "the consideration and possible action regarding Superintendent/Principal transition matters." No substantive action on the resignation or transition was taken during the meeting.
The board’s use of a closed session for personnel and legal consultation follows the exemptions in the Texas Government Code cited by the board, which allow confidential discussion of personnel and attorney‑client matters. The board did not announce any timetable for revisiting the resignation or transition items before tabling them.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:21 P.M. by President Felix Serna.
