Town board approves "Industry of Tomorrow" mural concept for downtown Seneca Falls

The Town Board voted to approve a large-scale mural concept proposed for municipal property at 89 Falls Street. Judy Wenzel of the Bonifiglia Family Foundation described the proposed artwork, titled "Industry of Tomorrow," saying it "honors Seneca Falls' vibrant industrial heritage" and outlining the artist team, installation schedule and partnerships with the Seneca Falls Museum and downtown businesses.
Wenzel said the foundation selected an internationally active husband-and-wife mural team and expects installation the week of August 18–24; the muralist will take about eight days to complete the work. The foundation plans community viewing opportunities, artist meet-and-greets and celebration events. The board made a motion and adopted the resolution approving the mural concept on a voice vote.
Some residents asked whether future murals will include images tied to women's rights and the town's history as the birthplace of that movement; the foundation noted a second mural concept is also under consideration that would more directly recognize that heritage. The approved resolution authorizes the concept for the municipal wall and directs staff to finalize permitting and site details.
