Keller ISD trustees approve employment recommendations; appoint Dr. Sarah Guerrero to district curriculum role

Dr. Wilson, speaking for the administration, asked the board to "approve the following employment recommendations as presented." The slate included bringing forward Jordan Niswander for Basswood Elementary School; Dr. Wilson said Niswander "is currently the assistant principal at Liberty Elementary." The board moved, received a second from Vice President Washington, and the motion "passes 5 0," as recorded by the chair.
The administration also proposed Dr. Sarah Guerrero for the district role of executive director of curriculum instruction. Dr. Wilson said Guerrero is "currently principal at Timberview Middle School." Trustees approved that recommendation as part of the single action item.
Dr. Wilson noted that Jordan Niswander was unable to attend the special meeting and "she will be joining us next week at a regularly scheduled meeting," when the board will introduce her formally. Dr. Guerrero attended and addressed the board after the vote.
Attendance at the special meeting was full except for Trustees Rankleaf and Coker, who were out of town. No members of the public had signed up to speak during the audience with individuals period.
Action at a glance: the board approved the administration's employment recommendations by a 5-0 vote; Jordan Niswander will be introduced at the next regular meeting.
