Kaufman ISD board approves LASO Cycle 4 grant application

At the Nov. 17 meeting, the Kaufman ISD Board of Trustees voted to approve an application for LASO Cycle 4 grant funding intended to support curriculum implementation, training, and instructional leadership coaching.
Vice President Christine Borders read the motion to apply for the LASO Cycle 4 grant as presented; Lindsey Abell seconded. The motion passed with a vote of 6–0 (Drew Peterson, Christine Borders, Linda Mott, Lindsey Abell, Byron Gregg, Casey Townsend). Elizabeth O'Donnell was absent.
District staff described LIFT as a consolidation of prior programs (Strong Foundation and Texas Instructional Leadership) and said LASO Cycle 4 funds would continue support for curriculum implementation, professional development, and the observation-and-feedback cycle. The board gave formal approval to proceed with the grant application.
