The superintendent updated trustees on the Rosser Scholarship under the Indian Pride Recognition program and listed award status by cohort: "Spring of 2025-8 Students who received Scholarship Fall 2025- 4 Completed and accepted 3 Not enrolling 2 Have emailed and called but no response 1 doesn't meet all requirements (not enough hours)." She said the scholarship committee revised the application to add an explicit deadline and required documentation and that trade schools such as cosmetology and barber programs were added to eligible options. Mrs. McGlothin was cited as completing the application revisions and staff said the district is awaiting student responses before determining award amounts.
President Ray Polk asked whether the committee could reduce the number-of-hours requirement; the superintendent said that decision rests with the scholarship committee and that lowering the threshold was "not a good idea," according to the minutes. Trustees did not take immediate action; the item will continue to a future meeting if further committee recommendations are received.
