Karnack ISD approves personnel recommendations and superintendent evaluation; contract tabled

The Board of Trustees met in closed session beginning at 7:24 p.m. under Government Code §§551.071 (attorney consultation) and 551.074 (personnel). The closed session addressed attorney consultation, personnel deliberations, the superintendent's evaluation and contract.
On reconvening at 9:12 p.m., the board approved personnel matters as recommended. The minutes record that a separate motion concerning professional employee contracts and/or resignations/retirements was approved with six trustees voting in favor and one abstention; the minutes list the trustees who voted in favor but do not name the member who abstained. The board also approved the superintendent's evaluation.
Regarding the superintendent contract, the board voted to table the contract until the March meeting so corrections could be made; Trustee Lacy Warren moved and Trustee Elaine Jackson seconded the tabling motion, which passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 9:13 p.m.
