Lamesa ISD trustees swear in two new members and re-elect board officers

At its June 23 meeting the Lamesa Board of Trustees administered oaths to two newly elected trustees and re-elected existing officers: April Martinez remains board president, Kevin Telchik remains vice‑president, and Melissa Cazares was appointed board secretary.
The Lamesa Board of Trustees swore in trustees Melissa Cazares and Albert M. Acosta during its June 23, 2026 regular meeting, formally seating the two newly elected members. Bernett Hernandez administered the oath of office during the public meeting.
Following the oath, trustees held organizational votes for officers. Melissa Cazares moved to retain April Martinez as board president; Kevin Telchik seconded the motion and it passed. April Martinez then moved to retain Kevin Telchik as vice‑president; Ernest Ogedo seconded and the motion carried. Kevin Telchik moved to appoint Melissa Cazares as board secretary; Ernest Ogedo seconded and that motion passed. Recorded votes on these officer motions were unanimous among those present at the time.
