Trustees unanimously approve Amplify K–5 OER, T‑TESS appraisers, counselor evaluation and other curriculum items

Lake Worth ISD trustees unanimously approved using Amplify K–5 Open Education Resources, appointed T‑TESS appraisers and adopted the T‑SCESS counselor-evaluation system on Aug. 19, each motion passing 7–0.
On Aug. 19 the Lake Worth ISD Board of Trustees approved several curriculum and evaluation items by unanimous votes.
The board approved use of Amplify Open Education Resource materials for K–5 Reading/Language Arts and Spanish Language Arts/Reading after a motion by Mac Belmontes and a second by Sonja Norman; the motion passed 7–0. Trustees also approved the list of T‑TESS appraisers for 2024–25 and the T‑TESS appraisal calendar as presented, each by 7–0 votes.
In addition, the board adopted the Texas School Counselors Evaluation & Support System (T‑SCESS) as the official evaluation instrument for district counselors. Cristina Gallagher moved adoption; Sonja Norman seconded and the motion passed 7–0. The minutes record these as standard governance approvals for the 2024–25 school year and do not include extended debate in the public record.
These approvals set the district's instructional materials and personnel-evaluation instruments for the coming school year and were recorded as unanimous decisions in the board minutes.
