Lake Dallas ISD recognizes students and staff for arts, academics and athletics achievements
Summary
District leaders recognized Lake Dallas High School students for art (VASE), UIL academic and speech/debate successes, choir UIL Sweepstakes scores, and both boys' and girls' soccer teams' postseason achievements. Multiple staff members were honored as Teachers and Employees of the Month.
The board meeting opened with a series of recognitions for students and staff across the district. Dr. Colleen Grindle and other site leaders highlighted the Lake Dallas High School Student Advisory Council and student accomplishments: Region 11N VASE medalists with Emma Quinn qualifying for State VASE; UIL Academic district winners including Alaina Clemens (1st place Spelling and Vocabulary) and the math team placing second overall in district.
Athletics honors included the LDHS Varsity Girls Soccer Team, recognized as District Champions with an overall record of 19-3 and a 10-0 district record, and the LDHS Boys Soccer Team, recognized as State Final Runner Up after a postseason run that included Regional Final and State Semi-Final wins. Superintendent Dr. Kristin N. Brown also recognized 13 teachers and employees as monthly honorees; a video highlighting recipients was shown in executive session.
