The Lake Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees approved its consent agenda at the April 20 regular meeting, passing the combined motion 7-0. Items approved included minutes, monthly financial statements, the quarterly investment report, and annual certification of instructional materials under Texas Education Code 31.1011.
The consent package also authorized a number of purchases and donations: a Defibtech Lifeline AED to the district police department donated by Living for Zachary; multiple purchases exceeding $75,000 including HVAC and LED lighting agreements, library and STEM furniture, athletic equipment and a special education bus; and approval of Bluebonnet Learning Open Educational Resources for K–5 reading and language arts for 2026–27 following the Instructional Materials Review and Approval process. The board recorded the motion as "MOTION PASSED 7-0."
The board also approved a Resolution regarding Senate Bill 546, which requires three-point seat belts on school buses by Sept. 1, 2029. The consent motion was moved by Trustee Bruce Smith and seconded by Trustee Aaron Appleby. No recorded dissents were entered.
