The La Villa ISD board voted Oct. 21 to approve implementation of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) contingent upon receipt of the LASO III Strong Foundations Implementation Grant. Superintendent Robert Muf1oz recommended the conditional approval; Trustee Marianna Reyna moved the motion and Trustee Yesenia Morales seconded. President David Alaniz called for a vote and the motion carried with unanimous support from trustees present.
Minutes record the decision as contingent on awarding the LASO III grant; the board did not appropriate district funds for the curriculum in the published minutes and did not record grant award amounts. The approval authorizes district staff to proceed with curriculum implementation planning if and when grant funding is secured.
