La Vega Independent School District trustees held a public hearing Feb. 17 on the district's 2024-25 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR). Board President Myron Ridge opened the hearing and invited Assistant Superintendent Sandra Gibson to explain the district's results and next steps.
Sandra Gibson reviewed grade-level scores and the district's performance across testing areas, and outlined goals and procedures the district plans to use in the coming year. The board allowed audience comments and closed the hearing at 6:43 p.m., with no formal vote recorded during the hearing.
Why it matters: The TAPR summarizes statewide and district academic metrics that help trustees and the community track student achievement and plan interventions. The board heard the findings and accepted the opportunity for public comment; trustees did not take a separate vote on the TAPR during the Feb. 17 meeting.
