Board Vice-President James Carlisle called a called meeting of the Leon Independent School District Board of Trustees to order at 6:00 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2025, saying, “I call the meeting of the Leon Independent School District to order at 6:00 pm, August 25, 2025. Let the record show that a quorum of board members were present, that this meeting has been duly called, and that notice of this meeting has been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meeting Act. Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.”
The meeting proceeded with a brief pledge and prayer led by Carlisle and a public forum during which there was no discussion concerning the tax rate for the 2025–2026 school year. Trustee Jay Winn moved to adjourn at 6:24 p.m.; Trustee Jeff Ahearn seconded the motion, which passed 6–0 with Trustee Chad Thomas recorded as absent. The board members recorded as voting in favor were Jay Winn, Michelle King, Rusty Moore, Bryan Rohrer, James Carlisle and Jeff Ahearn. No motions or votes on budget or tax-rate matters were taken during the session.
