Wist reviewed packet materials showing changes to debt service and building aid and said the district expects CASEBP rates to increase by about 10.5, which appeared in the packet as $144,000. She also said TRS and ERS final numbers are set and that interest rates are steady near 4.2 percent. BOCES fuel oil bids are expected to be set March 3, and the auditor contract is up for renewal this year.
Why it matters: the combination of lower aid and rising employer costs for benefits could increase next year’s levy pressure or require reductions in discretionary spending. Wist told trustees that three contracts that were open last year are now settled, which reduces one uncertainty for the budget.
Board members asked about timing for final state aid figures; Wist said a final state run of numbers was expected shortly and that BOCES cost figures should arrive soon.
