Leander ISD packet asks trustees to certify instructional materials for 2026–27 to meet state rules

District administration asked the board to ratify the Certification of Provision of Instructional Materials Survey for the 2026–2027 school year, a state-required annual certification that instructional materials (other than PE) cover the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for the coming year. Lauren Meeks, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, noted the requirement under Texas Education Code §31.1011 and related Texas Administrative Code rules (19 TAC §66.105) that districts verify TEKS coverage and protections under the Children’s Internet Protection Act before ordering through EMAT.
The packet advises that districts will be unable to order instructional materials through EMAT until the certification is on file with the Texas Education Agency. Administration recommended the board approve the certification and provided sample motion language for trustees to adopt.
