The La Vega Independent School District Board of Trustees met March 17, 2026, and conducted routine business including approval of construction, budget, and personnel items. Board President Myron Ridge established a quorum and called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.; Deputy Superintendent Todd Gooden led the pledges to the United States and Texas flags.
Trustee Raymond Koon moved to approve the meeting agenda and Trustee Randy Devorsky seconded; the board unanimously approved the agenda. The board then approved the consent agenda, which included the certification of unopposed candidates and an order cancelling the May 2, 2026 Board of Trustees election, minutes from February meetings, the monthly tax collection recap, budget amendments, and job descriptions. "The Board unanimously approved the items," the minutes state. The board approved an auditorium construction bid and the monthly budget analysis report, and approved contract renewals for certified and non‑certified staff as well as contract recommendations for two teachers: Lindsay Quintao (Special Education) and Ricky Torres (Art teacher/coach).
